About The Town Magazine

Our projects

A brew, a creative session or learning something new can be the beginning of something bigger. Our projects bring people together, offer practical support and create opportunities to feel connected, heard and valued.

Community Cuppa

Sometimes, a hot drink and someone to talk to can make a difference to your day. Community Cuppa offers a welcoming space to sit down, meet people and enjoy a free tea or coffee and toast. Come on your own or bring someone along—there’s a place for you at the table.

Runs every Friday during term time only, 10am–12 noon, at ATT Central. It’s free, with no need to book. Free adult arts and crafts takes place alongside it.

#HashtagGirls

Growing up comes with plenty of pressure, from navigating friendships to comparing yourself with what you see online. #HashtagGirls created space for girls aged 10–14 to explore confidence, self-worth, friendships and online safety through creative activities and supported conversations.

This short project was delivered with Lathom High School at ATT Central and funded by local MP Ashley Dalton and the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Community Funding. The books in the girls’ goodie bags were kindly funded by Skelmersdale Upholland Rotary Club. Together we explored comparison culture, cyberbullying and recognising unsafe situations, with the aim of helping the girls feel heard and better equipped to navigate these challenges.

Little Cooks

Cooking together offers more than a meal at the end. Little Cooks was a six-week summer project where children aged 7–11 and their parents or carers could get hands-on in the kitchen, try recipes and spend time learning together.

It took place at ATT Central and focused on practical cooking skills, confidence and shared family experiences.

Little Cooks may be running again this winter, so keep an eye on our upcoming projects!
